Dějiny a současnost, Jak „vznikli“ Slované

The image is a black and white photograph depicting an individual standing in the doorway of what appears to be a modest wooden house with large windows. The person, presumably Mrs. Dougherty as indicated by the caption, stands confidently at the entrance wearing light-colored clothing that suggests a historical context or simple living conditions.

In front of the door lies a metal can on a concrete base, possibly used for storing liquids such as milk. To her right, there's an assortment of discarded items including what looks like old tools and containers scattered in disarray against a pile of dirt and rocks, hinting at either ongoing construction or abandonment. The setting appears rural with open skies above.

The structure itself is utilitarian with visible wood panels and lack of modern amenities such as electricity, suggesting it could be from an earlier time period when electrification was not prevalent, possibly the early to mid-20th century in a remote area like Warm Springs in Malheur County, Oregon. The photograph captures a moment that conveys simplicity, self-reliance or hardship associated with rural living during those times.

No, this is what you look like when you're just a brainwashed activist.

Calling the British Museum “complicit in genocide” over label wording is not critique — it’s ideological grandstanding. Museums navigate complex political language all the time. Reducing that to colonial conspiracy narratives helps no one.

Today we were hosted at National Library. Beautiful library and interesting projects they solve there. We will try to invite Israeli colleagues to Prague during this semester to give us and our students the lectures.

On a work trip to Israel ❤️ — this time sampling the extent of the Essene settlement from the 2nd century BC.
I even sampled in the caves where the scrolls were discovered in 1947. Results should be available in a few months.
