Ah, banks. A $530 dog wheelchair purchase = no problem. A $55 Jansport backpack flagged for suspicious activity. Make it make sense.

ICE is really just openly killing people. The man who shot and killed him is a murderer and needs to go to prison.
NYT Video (shot by the woman in the pink jacket) shows ICE Agent clearly removing his handgun and shooting the unarmed and contained man after the man was trying to protect someone from getting hurt by ICE agents.

Yes, Hegseth threw Bradley under the bus. Awkward, since Bradley spent his entire career making sure buses and troops were safe.
Remind me again: Who do you think knows more about the Geneva Convention? Decorated, Naval Academy, SEAL, JSOC, Admiral, or "I-read-headlines-once-on television" guy?
This would have been much better handled had the grad student teacher had a one-on-one, asked for a revision, and provided some coaching on how to meet expectations so that the student could succeed in the assignment and class.
Oof, reading that Chronicle article about the student who got a zero on a paper... the student should not have been marked a zero per the rubric, but the paper did not meet the assignment criteria completely.
Everything you do online is tracked, saved, and shared for what feels like a lifetime. But there are some steps you can take to minimize what data is out there. ssd.eff.org/module/how-...

One year ago this week, California made history in pushing toward clean, sustainable aviation fuel.

Governor Newsom announces the return of 17,030 acres of ancestral land to the Tule River Indian Tribe and the reintroduction of tule elk to the area.
As part of today's historic return of ancestral land in the Sierra Nevada foothills and Central Valley back to the Tule River Tribe, the Department of Fish and Wildlife is helping reintroduce tule elk to the area.
It's a critical step in restoring balance to the lands and waters of their ancestors.
Finally received my formal PSLF eligibility notification. I now have a 30-day wait, and I could not be more excited to have this take place. Wishing the same for all those in PSLF who have been in limbo waiting for their notices.
Folks, people are all up in arms about the $200M ballroom, and 1) it's funded privately, 2) no taxpayer expense.
More interested in who's funding it & what other deals are happening. And raising $200M for a ballroom at a time with sky high everything, where else could that money have been directed?
Independent C-SPAN caller to Rep. Mark Alford: "You're taking credit for $50b that you just gave to the hospital industry. That's after you took away $150b. You don't take credit for just giving back a little bit of money after taking away so much. So quit lying. It just makes you look horrible."
It's the trash collection during the peaceful protest that gets me. Portland, hats off. www.youtube.com/shorts/pmjpt...
Thank you, Portland. Thank you.
All those abandoned cars! No pedestrians, except one brave soul. People didn't even have time to board up the windows.
Any government that uses invasive spyware on its citizens, on visitors, on migrants throttles and disrupts freedom.
fake news.
If anything, the anti-vacc rhetoric reminded me to schedule annual vaccinations for me and my family. So, thanks?
I also see a genuine opportunity for both sides of the aisle to come together to put pressure on the administration to cancel this event.
What a waste of taxpayer money, operational readiness, and ongoing military planning.
As a citizen, I would feel much more safe and comfortable knowing that the top brass are in their command posts around the world than coming to DC for a "pep rally".

War correspondent Pete Hegseth, because nothing says βI understand the stakesβ like treating top-secret ops like a forwarded chain email in 2003: βIf you donβt send this to five friends, the Navy wonβt strike Yemen.β
Made this out of grocery store flowers.
This is the equivalent of "I never heard of racism when I was a kid" (whispers: because it was an all white neighborhood).
And, I also support banning petroleum-based food dyes, but not under the rhetoric of this presser.
