You're so right about the time, I don't give those folks more than 2 replies anymore. Such arguments are partially correct in specific hypothetical circumstances that are raised to elide the actual circumstances of the actual incident in question, which is the root of all the evil these days.

To me, if you're walking up to a parked car, you are not a pedestrian. This is not a thoroughfare and you have ignored all concepts of right of way to engage a specific vehicle by your own choice.
