The narrative is what I'm objecting to. I appreciate her story. That said: "we are a nation of immigrants that built America" negates the reality of people who were forced migrants enslaved in labor camps. That is not immigration. We too built America.

People who came here via slave ships and auction blocks were forced migrants. Our history and contributions should not be erased in this otherwise good analysis.
