Trees and bushes along rural and main roads reduce visibility and light, affecting road safety (particularly under bad weather). But they are pretty much all widerness we have left.

I've never seen a linx hunting deer or fox. Their diet is mosty based on rabbits, hares and pigeons. They are gorgeous though.

Research needs structural funds not just grants. Otherwise, researchers' precarious conditions will continue to worsen and science will continue to suffer.
There are far too many home truths in this "How I spend my money" by an intl PhD student living in Dublin. Especially the bit that if they'd known what they know now they wouldn't have come.
This is why I'm nearly PhD-student-less.
