Just sharing my thoughts on Streeck (and ways I’ve seen them manifest in others)

He misrepresents leftist internationalism as a way to squeeze right wing nationalism and xenophobia into populist economics.

Although he says things that are accurate at times and better than liberal counterparts, he does so with reactionary underpinnings. Not worth engaging with imo 🤷‍♀️

Have done a lot of canvassing across Wisconsin, and in cities like Chicago, NYC, and Minneapolis

Recently just did canvassing in Kansas City for abortion rights and min wage increase

I talk to a lot of voters and hear a lot of opinions. Am part of multiple political organizations and want the best

I’m in Kansas City Missouri. Moved here only three months back though.

I was raised in Wisconsin. Lived in Finland, NYC, Belgium, Chicago, and now here.

Entirely queer friend group here but connections to the exact voters that made the dems lose the election in places like Wisconsin.

And you can keep pigeon holing your fictional view of Bernie supporters as the whitest men without any sort of intersectional analysis but that’s simply not what the data shows. He had the least white, least male, and yougest support. Full of activists from all angles.

I could go off all day on things I disagree with Bernie on. Or articles that I think are horrible strawmans in the jacobin.

However the mainstream democratic consensus is clearly maladapted to our times and losing. And this article and parts of Bernie’s appeal and critique are important reflections

Identity politics was coined by socialist feminist and I think it’s wrong to disregard it.

I do however think it’s important to recognize simple polling data. Understanding the Midwest battleground states (which in the past decade democrats have showed their incompetence in understanding)

And I disagree with Bernie on a lot of things and agree with that! He does miss a lot. I think there’s a lot of very important identity based issues that create real issues that need to be addressed.
