Screenshot of a news article from The Post titled βRepeatedly getting Covid doesnβt build immunity, βitβs more like accumulating damageβ,β written by Melanie Earley of RNZ and dated March 10, 2026. Below the headline is a portrait of leading vaccinologist and associate professor Dr Helen Petousis-Harris, shown facing the camera against a dark background. The article discusses how repeated COVID-19 infections may cause cumulative harm rather than building lasting immunity.
"Leading vaccinologist Helen Petousis-Harris says there's not enough awareness of the impact of COVID-19 on overall health."
"What many people don't realise is that getting COVID repeatedly is not like building immunity, it's more like accumulating damage," she says.

Thanks for noticing!
My eyes blurred and for a second there I thought you were selling pants ...
My lovely Spring of Deception bike ride down by the river this afternoon was feeling a little "draft"y, even when I slowed down ...
Whenever I'm in a building's bike room for the first time, I do a dust-on-the-frame and how-deflated-are-the-tires test to see how many bikes are actually being used and how many are forgotten.
Apparently they may or may not have been paying their employees ... (although I cannot corroborate and things may have changed).
Street signs under a bridge at night. The first has a picture of a bicycle and reads "Used ped signal," the second reads "It is admittedly more nuanced than FUCK CARS so fuck the way that we have all been pitted against one another in a war that trades in safety, convenience, and haste as we empty our pockets, poison our air, destroy our planet, and kill one another in pursuit of wealth for the very few, in short: fuck cars."
A new challenger has entered the arena, @tomflood.bsky.social. (from www.reddit.com/r/fuckcars/c...)

This is disgusting. Rationalizing the bombing of a school that reportedly killed 108 girls.
But since she asked,

An automatic weather camera photo of a person cycling on a recently plowed cycle path in a snowy landscape.
Dedicated π²πΆ weather stations & cameras in Oulu give a peek at traffic & maintenance. Snowβs been falling for hours now, and this path has already been plowed twice today, before 01:30am. This camera managed to snap someone casually pedalling at 1:30, just one of many enjoying the 24/7 maintenance π€
You would indeed be correct; it's entirely nonsensical placement, especially considering that there actually *is* sidewalk plowing here.

Yeah, hitting a headwind can really put a dent in your time. If I recall, that skate I linked was on a pretty calm day for the wind with the temperature cold enough to keep the ice hard but not so cold as to be uncomfortable.
On my last recorded skate I did 15.39 km (KM 0 to the locks and back with two loops of Dow's) in 52:15, or just over 26 minutes per direction:

masks, as they also continually slip off her chin. Her preference is either the 3M 9105 V-Flex, which gives much better chin support (but makes you look like a duck, pictured here), or the Flo Mask from @flomask.bsky.social (www.flomask.com/), which fits her face perfectly in the smaller adult size.
3M Aura masks are notorious for being normative-fitted -- that is, they fit the average face very well but can utterly fail non-standard face sizes. The valved 9211+ pictured is also noticeably smaller than the standard Aura 9205+, so that might add to the problem. My partner cannot use the 9205+
I said drafted, didn't I?

Done! (Also, did you know you can fit like 10 bikes in one car's worth of parking spot?)
This driver saw my bike's front light and decided, "hey, that's a good idea, I should turn my lights on too!" ... You're welcome. (Seeing a lot of drivers with their lights off well after dark these days, and usually my bike light doesn't spur such immediate remedy.)
