Turns out the bg layer was slightly transparent so I guess the BG of bluesky comes through? Is it different on light mode?

OK so I felt like the colors were off in my last picture which is a little concerning so I took a screenshot and was like "is it color theory" no something changed between resprite and bluesky but I'm not sure what...
Still very much a work in progress but I figured I should work some more on characters sprites while I have downtime. Not all the poses are finished but for a test on silhouette I'm happy with him.

I've been tossing around a few ideas for a vertical slice of a OoT style dungeon/game. I'd probably switch to Godot now from Unreal but in college we made our final project attempt to do something like that. I'd change a lot of it now, but yeah I'd love to go on that list.
I'll be between big jobs soon, and would love to dedicate at least a few months toward prototyping the gameplay for this project.
If I made it the focus of my Patreon for the foreseeable future, could you see yourself chipping in a few dollars monthly to support it? I've got big plans!
Maybe it's a good thing I stopped being a teacher before kids really got into the whole 6 7 thing.
I would have been really annoying with it.
Thanks a ton for the response! Looks like I'll be making another account for myself and Corn Mushroom. Hopefully this'll be one of the last times. I really enjoyed it here but it quickly felt different and I wasn't seeing relevant stuff and everything kept breaking.
Im so tired of having to start over marketing my game, meeting new cool people, then the site becoming intolerable
Im unsure on how mastodon works if its just people I follow am I promoting my stuff to new people or do they have to search me up If Im in a gamedev branch am I just showing other devs?
I guess GIFs work on BlueSky now? So that's neat! It does look like it's being converted to something pausable though? Who knows.
Might be useful for showing off smaller things that don't NEED sound. Like this silly test gif I made quickly.
I'm so tired...
A screengrab from Aseprite of the main character, Jess, next to a dog mascot and a rabbit mascot for two local food stands.
Working on some NPCs for Interloped and while blocking out the shape I kinda fell in love with the colors. Like they're mascots for a couple of local food stands, so they COULD be wild colors but probably shouldn't overall.

The way I thought that was a bunch of little Luigis in the thumbnail.
Hell yeah, it's shaping up to be clearer at a glance! When you've got a limited size to work with you've got to find all these ways to divide information for legibility. I think you're on the right track with these two ideas. I'm sure there is a way to get it all working in one textbox, unity right?
I was just about to comment the changing color for narration but it seems to have been discussed! Another possible idea is maybe a white stroke/outline effect, maybe?
Grabbed my interaction system from Interloped and started playing with some animation ideas. I wanted to see how well animations synched together if they were both just called but it's like half a frame off, realistically it's probably not a huge problem but as a coder/artist I dislike it.
Sometimes it's fun to put a pause on your main project and work on little things. I was wanting to play with the idea of sfx for walking so I made a smaller project working with that idea and got something I'm pretty proud of. #IndieDev #Godot #soloDev
I took my eldest kid sledding and tried snowboarding for the first time as an adult. Never got the hang of it as a kid. I flipped the bindings to ride goofy like how I ride my onewheel and it went much better.
Not perfect, but better.
Regardless, I didn't get the job :(
I've got an interview I'm excited for soon. Part of my brain is telling me I should tell them how my wife views me like Teddy from Bob's Burgers because I like fixing things. Another part of my brain says no, what if they are looking at my bluesky!?
Well then I won't have to tell them the Teddy bit.
Well the video we posted yesterday for Corn Mushroom on the battle system done quick for Interloped netted us 21 followers across 3 platforms so that's pretty cool. I'm trying to keep the main profile more professional and my personal one more behind the scenes. Gotta start somewhere!
Hey there! We are currently developing an indie game called Interloped: In the Void's Eyes. A 2D Pixel Art JRPG developed in the Godot Engine! If you have any questions we'd love to hear from you! #indiegamedev #gamedesign #godot #gamedevelopment
Devlog #03 for our new fantasy point and click game is out for everyone!
It's been a little while since our last one, so this one shows off a lot of progress.

Can't say I have had much time for HEMA or GameDev since my daughter was born, BUT she does sleep through the night no problems so that's a major win.
I'm reworking how to scene manager works to allow for battles to pop up, its slowly coming together. Once it's working, vertical slice time. #GameDev
Do you like roguelike games? Do you like Puzzle Quest? Do you wish both of those were in the same place? You're in luck: kfsoftware.itch.io/puzzlerogue
Puzzle Rogue is early access, playable in-browser! It's fully featured and you can play through the first area. Let us know if you slay the Wyvern!
Finished the second version of my 3D printed banjo, its much nicer to play says reviews! I've got a few more edits to make before releasing the files to the public, but I'm very excited to share it with the world I'm so proud of this project and look forward to my next instrument. #banjo #3DPrinting
Oh hey that's insanely cool, someone on TikTok showed you could build test your game on the SteamDeck. I got my game to launch but the inputs do not seem to work. So for the moment it's kinda moot. #Godot #IndieDev #GameDev #RPG
Mario & Luigi games be like..
I thought I recognized your work! Came to check and was glad to see I was correct :)
Valve's Steam Machine. A cube with a swappable front plate and LED light bar below, with some USB and power buttons bellow that.
Deep Thought from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. A cube shaped head with a light up bar and a "power button" looking eye.
Well I'm not sure WHEN I could get a SteamMachine but I know what kind of a stand I'll make for it when I do get one.
I do hope it has wake up animations similar to the SteamDeck so I can make fun little openings. Probably make one of the Daft Punk Steam Machine song and Deep Thought saying 42.
The backwall of a diner, from left-to-right a cash register, the window to the kitchen, an ice cream machine, a coffee hot pad, cabinets above filled with bowls mugs and napkins, and against the wall a lone arcade cabinet.
Things are slowly moving forward, with a newborn its a little harder to find time to develop my game. I hope to show this area a little more soon.
Taking a step back money is getting tight, I want to keep working on this full time but its hard juggling a newborn with active development. #RPG #Godot
I might not have shipped my game yet but I achieved one of my other life goals here today. My partner and I gave birth to our first daughter together this morning ๐๐ฉท
Hopefully the income and better stability are here to follow suit soon. For my partner and our children together I hope so...
