Is this thing still on?
Anyway, we have a new preprint out of a story that's been brewing in my lab for several years and is finally ready to see the light of day. It's about what happens to Candida glabrata while it's hanging out inside macrophages.
The preprint for our super fun collaboration with Erika Shor @mutant-fungus.bsky.social is out. Check it out to see some really beautiful PFGE karyotyping gels from Candida glabrata!
Beautiful work! Congratulations!

Congrats to your mentee! They should reach back out to the same programs they applied, and give them the GRFP news. Many programs limited slots for lack of funds, not because the applicants lacked merit. Smart programs will reconsider their decision.

8/8. So, if youβre feeling down about these attacks, I understandβI feel that way too. But just remember that theyβre not attacking because your work doesnβt matter; theyβre attacking *precisely* because it does. So, get some rest, connect with your people, and keep doing it.
This is incredibly sad news. Scott' legacy is monumental and will live long.
Delighted to publish my new molecular animation:
