Yeah, "roguelike" is really weird. I prefer to think of it as a format, not a genre.
In games, mechanics take precedence because games are activities, and what you do in them is often more relevant than their setting. If someone wants more games like Skyrim, they're probably not looking for Slay the Spire, Rogue Legacy or Warcraft 3, even if they're all fantasy.
We actually do, though. We classify works according to length with terms like "short story" or "feature film". We use terms like "film noir" or "epistolary novel" that describe the way certain stories are told. We call a painting a "mural" because it's painted on a wall.

Yeah, piracy was ubiquitious in Argentina as well. Price was an issue (in the pre-download days legit game copies were often 2x the US Price), but access too. Very few games had any decent distribution, pirated games were everywhere.

Por las dudas: Obvio que todavía tener los fierros vale muchísimo. Pero para el caso, el legítimo heredero de Carlomagno sigue siendo literalmente un rey.
Para mi la relación entre, por ejemplo, un rider y Rappi (y el dueño del restorán), no tiene un choto que ver con la dicotomía capital/trabajo del capitalismo clásico. Tener los fierros hoy te convierte en un subalterno del que tiene los datos.
