i think the essence of my problem is that one of the most important aspects of my job is scheduling meetings with students, and the software I'm provided to do this is an afterthought.

i know we've got real problems in this world but i am waiting to see if I can have one day this week that's not completely or partially ruined by tech or logistical issues.

FDR tried to purge the Democratic Party by campaigning against Congressional Dems who had opposed him on various things (many of whom were southern, but not all). There was a LOT of pushback about presidential involvement in state affairs. teachingamericanhistory.org/document/fir...

i brought up that Bill Clinton (elected when I was in 7th grade) and Donald Trump, president while I'm a full professor with peers who have children in college, are the same age and my students really felt that.
