Vibe coding broke people's brains because they had a bad understanding of the software design process.
The pop culture model goes something like this: start out with a sketch and then render that same idea in progressively finer detail.
So when tools could "skip" to high detail, people went WOW.
Itβs hard to properly convey the lunacy of these proposals to people outside aerospace.
Reflect wants to put gigantic mirrors in orbit and beam down sunlight at nighttime.
SpaceX wants a million more starlink sats.
If either of these actually happens, space will be unusable.
Real talk though, this game is a balm, it's gonna take over my brain and all my free time for a minute. I haven't woken up thinking about a game since ACNH launched.
The thing about Pokopia is that I already feel like a Ditto imitating a human most of the time.
One of us, one of us!
Tori is awesome and this would be such a fun job!
Chloe, a tri-color beagle, on the way home from the SPCA in 2017.
Chloe earlier this month, snoozing on the couch. Almost all the brown has faded from her face.
Today marks 9 years of unauthorized scooby snacking and general beagle chaos!
I propose "lack-of-thought partner" as a substitute.
I'm living for the snark on making yellow accessible in brand colors π
Make sure you catch the replay of @stephaniewalter.bsky.social's axe-con talk if you're not here live. It's a brilliant crash course on common pushbacks about accessibility and how to communicate that to people outside the field. Starting day 2 of axe-con off strong!
just a reminder that you already know everything you need to know about the state of the union and unless you will enjoy watching it there's a million other things you can do. you don't have to be "in the loop." the loop is a trash place to be tbh
The keynotes are seldom new information for me, but they at least usually leave me feeling hopeful or excited. The ones this morning left me feeling rather the opposite.
I don't miss twitter much, but I do miss how concentrated the #a11y community was there.
If you're prioritizing recordings for axe-con, I highly recommend today's sessions by Pawel Wodkowski, Eric Zirlinger, Damian Sian, and of course @annaecook.com. The opening keynotes were so rough, but the other sessions more than made up for it!

Can't wait! You're going to do great! π
Hey folks 25 mins till my talk starts! Itβs free and online, and Iβll make sure we have some fun today! π€

Feeling disappointed with the first axe-con keynote. So we're forcing ND folks into discomfort over something as harmless as gaze and calling it AT? But it's cool because it uses AI, right? Do better, y'all. #a11y
There has never been a more passionate enemies to lovers story than a vet waiting room where a Newfie desperately wants to meet a cat in a carrier and that cat could not possibly be less interested in meeting another creature
I had no idea, but I love to see it! Games are honestly more fun when they make themselves accessible to the players needs and wants instead of expecting the player to sacrifice for the game. Adding this one to my wishlist! Thank you π
Yes. My high school had an A/B split system where half the class was Government/Economics. Also available as AP classes for college credit. The government portion was a lot like your description of civic classes. It does still appear in the 26-27 course catalog for my high school.
Not even a little bit!
Just realized that Jeff Bridges was both The Dude and Prince Lir and it's breaking my brain
Based on the job history and job hunting rejection emails, safe to say not π
Today in adventures in elder care: Explaining to a 75 year old that you can't just ignore a jury summons and trying to determine if a piece of paper is actually a summons from a shakey minute long video because I don't want want to drive an hour there and back if I don't have to.
Reporting from the web developer reef, apparently. I am not a web developer though π
Did you know that if you had a parent with type 2 diabetes, you're 40% more likely to get it? If both parents had it, you have a 70% greater chance of developing it. I will keep yelling that diabetes is not something that can be someone's "fault" for the rest of my natural life (and unnatural too).
Jesus fuckboy christ I hope so.
I will admit I haven't been following this closely because I just don't have the headspace for it right now, but this is horrific (and not at all surprising as a use for AI, which is its own kind of horrific).
