TL;DR: Here's What Web3 taught me about simplifying chaos:
β Use simple words
β Be emotionally aware
β Ditch jargon
β Speak to humans, not DAOs
The real unlock?
You donβt need to sound βWeb3.β
You need to sound human.
Because even in crypto, humans are the ones clicking βConnect Wallet.β
(At least I'm not sure about automations)
So whether you're writing for DeFi, NFTs, or some zk-modular-chain thing...
Ask yourself:
β’ βWould I click this?β
β’ βWould I understand this if I was new?β
β’ βWould I feel safer using this product?β
Good crypto writing isnβt about dumbing down.
Itβs about clearing up.
Clarity over cleverness.
Emotion over ego.
Simplicity over noise.
Hereβs the truth most Web3 brands forget:
Youβre not just explaining a product.
Youβre calming fear.
Youβre translating risk.
Youβre building trust through language.
That shift changed everything.
β
Higher conversions
β
More retention
β
Happier clients
β
Actual user understanding
Because people donβt trust what they canβt understand.
So I switched it up:
From: "Non-custodial liquidity aggregator"
To: "Move your crypto, without giving up control"
From: "Decentralized yield optimization layer"
To: "Earn more, without staking headaches"
Every word must earn its keep.
Then I realized something:
Simplicity is the highest form of intelligence.
If your grandma canβt understand it, you donβt understand it well enough to write it.
My early copy sounded like this:
"Permissionless protocol enabling frictionless interoperability across cross-chain ecosystems."
Translation?
Even I didnβt know what I was saying.π
Web3 isnβt just complex.
Itβs CHAOTIC tbh.
β New protocols every month
β Unstable narratives
β Unclear regulations
β Users who donβt know what theyβre buying
If your writing isn't anchored, it gets drowned in noise.
When I started writing for Web3 startups, I thought I had to sound "smart."
Jargon-heavy. Complex. "Blockchain-native."
Big mistake.
Hereβs what writing for crypto taught me about simplifying chaos, and what it means for every founder, writer, or builder.
If you want your brand to sound cool, but still convert,

When your copy is cool + clear, people trust you.
They remember you.
And they hire you.
Because everyone wants a vibe,
but nobody wants to be unsure about the offer.
If a 13-year-old canβt understand it, itβs not cool. Itβs confusing.
If it makes you feel smart but your reader feels dumb, rewrite it.
Hereβs how to sound cool and clear:
β Write like you talk
β Use rhythm, not riddles
β Say one smart thing per sentence
β Use metaphors that hit, not confuse
β Cut 30% of your words
Hereβs what bad βcoolβ copy looks like ):
β βLetβs vibe. We do growth. Tap in.β
β βFrom chaos to clarity.β
β βRe-imagining possibilities in the everything space.β
What does that even mean?
Writing cool copy β adding slang, emojis, or trendy phrases.
It means writing like a real person,
with clarity, confidence, and edge.
A lot of βvibeyβ brands make this mistake:
They try to sound cleverβ¦
β¦and forget to be clear.
If your copy makes people pause, it better be from curiosity, not confusion.
Cool copy is dangerous.
Done right, it gets clicks.
Done wrong, it confuses everyone.
Hereβs how to sound cool without sounding confused π
