What an odd person.
What an odd person.
This isnβt worth arguing about more. Grassleyβs quote doesnβt say what you and OP say it said. Whether or not the MAL warrant was justified is a different topic that has been done to death. In this specific instance Iβm not outraged that the NYT didnβt go down that rabbit hole again. You are. Ok.
Iβm pretty done with this thread but I donβt think that is a fair take in this instance. I donβt like the NYT at all. But all this article was doing was reporting on what Senators were saying and how it relates to Patel. Whether the MAL warrant was justified is just a different topic. Take care.
I understand your point. I think you are overreacting and unrealistic in this specific instance. But thatβs just a difference of opinion. Not much else to say. Have a good one.
Hardly. Iβm a real person making a valid point. If you want to block me to reinforce your bubble and avoid any ideas you disagree with, go ahead.
Except that the article doesnβt say that.
Look. I am no fan of the New York Times. Check my post history.
But I think your take here is misplaced. The article quotes Grasley and some others. Thatβs it. You can disagree with them but attacking the reporter is not the best angle. IMO.
All true. I agree. But what is the βfalse claimβ in the article?
I am sorry, but Iβm not quite getting your point. I re-read Grasleyβs quote. I donβt think anything he said is untrue.
As to your question, my experience with search warrants is that they are extremely invasive and disruptive. Frequently homes and businesses suffer huge disruption and damage.
What, specifically, are the βfalse claimsβ? And what is the evidence they are false?
If there is a case to be made, put it out there. If there is disinformation being published people want to know.
Please elaborate.
Thank you.
I know that feeling, friend. Please just take it easy today. Donβt do anything to harm yourself. If you need help, ask. Sometimes asking is the hardest thing. But do it anyway.
Thank you for this clear explanation. It sounds very promising. I hope it works.
You are recreating exactly the kind of βeliteβ class (politicians, journalists, and celebrities) that has people so resentful of the powers that be. But maybe you want that?
Fair enough. Thats a reasonable principle. Here are my suggestions for the βPopeβ: stop claiming moral superiority; stop taking money from vulnerable poor people; release your βsecret archivesβ; sell your palaces, gold and art; and stop protecting rapists.
I agree that getting rid of the death penalty would be a very good thing. It is an abomination.
But the idea that the Pope feels entitled to interfere in US affairs is disgusting. He is an evil man. If you are against Russian interference in our elections you should oppose this as well.
So now the Vatican is interfering in US affairs? Why is that ok?
Some old man in a luxury gowns who claims a special relationship with a mythical man in the sky, and who oversees an organization that protects child rapists can just butt right out.
Nobody should be murdered. But he was an abusive asshole. Not worth remembering fondly.
It was a Monday. We heard about it from Howard Cosell.
18 years for everyone in the federal government would be just right.
Why canβt regular people get verified? Why only those in a handful of favored classes?
It is almost never justice. The regulatory state is badly broken.
We donβt know yet. Clearance rate data is released quarterly. In Q3 47 of 98 murders were cleared citywide. About half iss typical.
And how many cops working the case? Compared to whatever other murders happened this week?
At what point does it affect human cognition?
Trimmed? Was that intentional?
Nah. Itβs more than that. They want to do all sorts of stuff and know it will be covered up.
Want to know how regulators are reacting to the election? By sending flurries of subpoenas and opening new cases. Itβs an effort at job security. βYou canβt let me go, Iβm doing this big new important case!β There has been a noticeable uptick since November 5.
You should get into the football and hockey jersey scene. You would be a star. They are obsessed with details and spotting fakes! π
Excellent analysis. Thank you.
Larry Robinson.
Great idea.
