I’m pretty done with this thread but I don’t think that is a fair take in this instance. I don’t like the NYT at all. But all this article was doing was reporting on what Senators were saying and how it relates to Patel. Whether the MAL warrant was justified is just a different topic. Take care.

But I think your take here is misplaced. The article quotes Grasley and some others. That’s it. You can disagree with them but attacking the reporter is not the best angle. IMO.

I am sorry, but I’m not quite getting your point. I re-read Grasley’s quote. I don’t think anything he said is untrue.

As to your question, my experience with search warrants is that they are extremely invasive and disruptive. Frequently homes and businesses suffer huge disruption and damage.

What, specifically, are the “false claims”? And what is the evidence they are false?

If there is a case to be made, put it out there. If there is disinformation being published people want to know.

Fair enough. Thats a reasonable principle. Here are my suggestions for the “Pope”: stop claiming moral superiority; stop taking money from vulnerable poor people; release your “secret archives”; sell your palaces, gold and art; and stop protecting rapists.

I agree that getting rid of the death penalty would be a very good thing. It is an abomination.

But the idea that the Pope feels entitled to interfere in US affairs is disgusting. He is an evil man. If you are against Russian interference in our elections you should oppose this as well.

Nah. It’s more than that. They want to do all sorts of stuff and know it will be covered up.

Want to know how regulators are reacting to the election? By sending flurries of subpoenas and opening new cases. It’s an effort at job security. “You can’t let me go, I’m doing this big new important case!” There has been a noticeable uptick since November 5.
