Big day for The Big Hollow: 1986. Let's see here...
- I'm officially signed with DANGEN Entertainment ππ₯³
- we're part of #SteamNextFest with a newly polished demo out NOW
- it's coming to GOG!
- new trailer right here
So, if you haven't played the demo & wishlisted yet, time to get sleuthing!ππ΅οΈ
The hardware and software space has been broken due to development time and budgets for years. I keep coming back to this and how right it is
It's only been three days since we launched Demon Tides and 5% of you 100% completed Demon Tides with 20-30 hours of playtime. That's... Insane and I LOVE IT!
The younger gen have been priced out. Personally, I would like to see consoles go back to cheaper devices- even if it means cutting power back. It's not like AAA can even afford to take advantage of it anyway.
The AI bubble RAM crisis is caused for non-existent problems by non-existent money for a non-existent infrastructure to meet non-existent demand to make non-existent business and will utterly destroy real business based on real demand and real infrastructure built with real money for real problems.
Rock bottom has a basement
AI is going to mess so much up. I don't think those pushing it realise. We're already drowning in games and AI is going to increase the volume dramatically. It's a case of, just because we can, doesn't mean we should.
I think AAA studios will just continous be bought out or downsize. One concern for all gaming however is the sheer volume of games. Even great indie games are going to lose out.
They've kinda done it to themselves. They've gotten the audience to expect AAA to be bigger and better. Look at the complaints of that new 2.5D GoW game for example. People complaining it looks indie - which is funny, because indie games still look and play great.
Andrew Fray (roll7) and Shawn Lawyden have both called for a reduction in AAA budgets as its gotten too bloated. On top of that, the games are no longer just pushing graphics, but systems from multiple genres and feel the need for every game to be 50+ hours. It's not sustainable.
Good imo. Need to stop pushing tech so much when it clearly costs too much and we're seeing diminished returns.
