I added a new display and drying wall to my studio. Small additions can make a big difference.
A rare treat these days. A still life! The outdoors had been calling so most of my paintings have been landscape recently. But I'm looking forward to digging into some still lives in the studio.

Lake Julian painting.
I had a lot of company while working on this little plein air painting at Lake Julian.
Most of the Blue Parkway near me is still closed for repairs. But the one lookout I can reach still has a great view.
The Pharaoh Cicadas are here! I've been waiting for their once every seventeen years visit. And I must say, they are elegant.
I was introduced to a new garden today, while painting with the local plain air group. I'll definitely be painting here again.
Super cool! Have a great time at the convention.
A little plein air piece completed at the library this week. I love going out with the local painting group because I learn about incredible painting locations. I never would have imagined a library with such an amazing view.
I had a wonderful day of painting at the arboretum during their annual azalea festival. They are very welcoming of artists, adding our local plein air group to the guest list each year.
Liminal Space
A meditation on imagination and the space we enter when we open a book.

I saw this pond recently. I was afraid Hurricane Helene might have wrecked it as it's beside the river. It fared quite well! All looked untouched until I noticed sunflower stalk twenty feet up in the trees and grass debris left wrapped around branches. The only signs left of high water.
A painting I did of the fields at the Biltmore Estate. I'm looking forward to summer morning pleinair outings. Feels like they're just around the corner.
