Gary Speed passed away 13 years ago today.

I had no connection to him through the club I support but his death is one that I pause for thought over every year on the anniversary. It’s so easy to brush mental health under the carpet and “get on with it” I do it myself but I shouldn’t.

Grandparents lived in the road next to Upton Park and the whole family were Hammers. Used to love being there on march days seeing the crowds on their way to the match, hearing the crowd from their back garden. Was amazing being taken to my first match, 11/12/93. Core memories!

Gallstones/gallbladder pain is absolutely not the one. 😢
