The past few days has proved that oil is a lot more volatile than we expect. We need to be increasing renewables and diversify away from oil so that we are covered when global events happen.
Who would look at recent events and decide we need to increase reliance on fossil fuels??
Starmer may not be Churchill, but Trump isn't even G.W. Bush!
If you could start your Monday show with this phrase, it would be the best thing ever!
I've never seen such sore losers as the Reform Party in this by-election.
The next General Election may become unbearable to watch if they're going to be like this for every seat,.
Let's hope the win for the Greens opens Labour's eyes that perhaps the Reform voter's vote isn't the one they should be chasing.
I bet the residents of Gorton are upset they didn't vote for him now!! /s
This should happen more often on TV.
When MPs start giving out false information, an impartial expert such as Martin Lewis should be allowed to walk on-set to fact-check them.
The govt often have a surplus in Jan as this is when tax returns are due. The UK is still working at a deficit, so debt levels are still increasing p/a.
This news means that the increase in deficit is slowing. Hopefully the govt and slowly start to pay the deficit off and reduce interest payments.
Was it not the courts that decided that?
It's hard to choose which story is more tragic!
I like that better 😆
Check the spelling in my last post 😅
Call it oat mlik
I've been eating hundreds of Haribo milk bottles for years assuming I'm getting my daily recommended levels of calcium from them 🙈
It'd be nice to have more streets which had fewer lights in the UK
I'd like to see polices that bring people together and disregard anyone who thinks policies should be based on where a person is born or what colour their skin is.
This is the thing - the most noise about replacing Starmer comes from Tories/Reform and RW publications. If Starmer steps down, those who stayed quiet when there was no GE when the Tories changed power will come out bashing their pots and pans insisting on one if Starmer steps down.
A bit like when the last govt cut fuel duty, many firms will choose not to pass the savings onto consumers.
This won't be the benefit that supporters think it is.
...similar to Nige's previous great ideas
2 things I enjoy;
The rise of offshore wind power
Trump getting his ass handed to him.
I'm beginning to get the suspicion that Musk is a wrong'un...
Another high-school-type tantrum by...the leader of the free world.
It really highlights how fragile the foundations of our modern society are.
Perhaps there is a vape entrepreneur called Mr Wale 😅
They're making it easier for people with severe, chronic conditions to choose to end their suffering.
Merely being disabled wouldn't even make you eligible for the assisted dying route.
This is a step in the right direction, though. Hopefully this government, or successive governments, will build on the success of this policy.
Why just children? We've seen the damage it can do to adults as well.
How many more deaths of US citizens need to happen before the MAGA crowd realise that Trump isn't acting in their best interests?
This problem isn't exclusive to children.
If the intention is to stop social media taking over people's lives, it should be banned for all ages, right?
Banning under-16s from social media will just mean they'll find other ways to bully, insult and abuse each other.
They will still be able to send and receive WhatsApps, texts and links to dodgy sites.
Education is always better than exclusion and pretending the issue doesn't exist.
Reduced borrowing = lower interest payments = more money freed up to spend on other things 🤷🏼♂️
