Spoken like a true Princetonian. This statement is classic #ivyleaguespeak

All the feckless idiots in this regime come out of that system. There needs to be a serious evaluation of how people get into these elite schools, and not only what they learn there, but how their performance is evaluated.

That is the plan, but the RW candidate, Rachida Dati, who is facing trial for corruption when she was a MEP, is trailing the Socialist (currently deputy mayor) Emmanuel GrΓ©goire by I think it's 30 points. The mayor of Paris has been a Socialist for 25 years. First round of voting 15.03.

Why wouldn't he? He's a TV personality, totally unqualified for the job. He shouldn't be in government.

25 years ago, Tommy Tuberville didn't know what the word "Muslim" meant--had probably never even heard it. He still doesn't.

His ignorance and bigotry disgrace Alabama and the Senate.

Bicycle Utopia is grateful for the leadership of @mayor.nyc.gov and proud of the city that elected him.

Overheard in Brooklyn "This 'the restaurant is within walking distance' thing is blowing my mind."

Quality eyeballs = high income readership ++ eyeballs > higher ad rates. This has been the established business model for media for decades. For legacy media it's kind of a chicken-and-egg thing: ++ income inequality > shrinking HIR > coverage catering to HIR > gov't policy ++income inequality.

With this guy the tell is pretty much always in the first sentence. "I am a stupid person who went to a good college." What comes after is just elementary school playground level bamboozlelry.

This is pandering to demographic in their readership they consider desirable: people who don't "shop for their own groceries, buys their own cars or houses, or funds their kids' college educations" ...and who want to be told none of this is their fault.

I know nothing about this person, but I do know that this kind of personal attack is the opposite of useful. Your attempt to hijack the point I'm making--which is about NYT's inability to fulfill its role as the 4th Estate--in favor of ad hominem whataboutism is unwelcome. Fuck right off.

Sounds like he's saying all he wants now is for Daddy to show up with a suitcase full of cash and make all the booboo go away.

I worked with those people: they were capable of rewriting press releases and taking stenography in interviews. That was the extent of their understanding of "journalism."

Their skillset was limited to posting 4 times a day to get the eyeballs.

Those people are senior editorial staff now.

They understand they have one problem: must get more eyeballs

20 years ago, young journalists were hired by NYT and across media because they "understood" the internet/social media.

If your newsroom doesn't understand the difference between campaign rhetoric and the speech of a sitting mayor you've got a bigger problem than the blatant Islamophobia-baiting of this piece.

The war makes it more urgent for journalists to call out Trump’s derangement | Press Watch The commander-in-chief is unfit for duty.

I've been struggling with how to express my dismay at the war coverage by our top newsrooms, and how it dances around the central fact that Trump is deranged and unfit to command. I finally wrote something. Please read it. presswatchers.org/2026/03/the-...

The Epstein Files Coverup With Representative Maxwell Frost
The Epstein Files Coverup With Representative Maxwell Frost YouTube video by Heather Cox Richardson

It’s about more than the Epstein Files, it’s about Billionaires consolidating wealth & power & trafficking children at will because they are β€œtoo big” to be arrested. It is a global cover up.
This discussion between @hcrichardson.bsky.social & @maxwellfrost.bsky.social is worth your time!

1000% This would make Democrats so toxic it would guarantee Republicans never vote with Democrats on anything (and they do: see #epsteinfiles), and a recipe for a GOP landslide in November.

Political theatre is good if it's part of a strategy to get real action. This is just empty grandstanding.

So what? Three more defections and Johnson loses the Speakership. That's what matters. There are more than enough Republican reps who caucus with Dems when it suits them.

Fine. But if *three more* Republicans quits GOP, we'll be saying Speaker Jeffries.

Serious claims need evidence, not speculation. That LG is gay has been common knowledge in the gay community for years. Name one GOP MOC, besides George Santos, who was out when he ran for office, and who did not resign in disgrace when he was outed.
