We are still home. So that’s good. Cat is on the mend I think. Kid has high fever again but was due for another round of med, so I’m letting that do its job. Not entirely convinced we won’t end up at the hospital, but for now she’s in decent spirits.

Keeping the sick cat from trying to sit on the sick kid because the sick cat is obsessed with being too hot.

She’s very upset that I won’t let her sleep on the warm thing in the bed.

Pulse ox on my kid and it says 78 and I’m chill and like “it’ll go up” and it did.

Having one of those wait-and-see-maybe-the-hospital nights. Fever has two hours to come down.

I just hate going and having an RT try and get her to 95 and then they want us to stay for days after she’s better.

I admit I am heavily biased because I was at the pet store yesterday and they had these two perfectly sleek black shelter kitties and this just makes me think of them.

That is easily one of the biggest local events in our town and it’s just my little studio putting it on. Granted we have a spectacularly shitty movie theatre, but that place is a ghost town. The people crave live performances.

But this did remind me to get tickets to the season opener of the national ballet for my mum. Good thing because they are almost sold out!

I live in a town of 100k and the musical to ballet show ratio is pretty equal. But I’m very jealous of any small city getting pro musicals on the regular. We get two amateur shows a year and a pro show once every…idk it’s only happened twice in my 20 years here.

Meanwhile I spent a thousand bucks on RUSH tickets. So I don’t know, I think my popular concert is for the fancy people.

My mum goes and she’s just a sessional prof at a university making like 60k a year. Lol.

(Ngl I’m a little sensitive about this shit because it’s so often “girl stuff” in this category. So it’s like, do people not like it that much? Or do men not like it that much? Because I know lots of women who would regularly go to pro ballet shows if that was a thing you could do.)

Yup, so much. We have a local actress on Shoresy. She’s a former student from my dance studio.

I don’t think I’m particularly fancy, but I enjoy ballet. 🤷‍♀️ It’s really good for my stupidly inflexible body. It’s beautiful to watch. Little B takes ballet classes and it’s helping her improve her coordination. Idk it’s pretty popular where I live. When we get pro shows, people go.

Maybe not as many people watch ballet, but I assure you that there are absolutely masses of little girls (and a handful of boys) in ballet classes. It’s an extremely popular extracurricular activity, so I don’t think it’s dying any time soon.

How are there 5 volumes and I’m just finding out this is a thing?

I get so excited when I’m traveling and there’s wild reptiles. We do not get a lot of that around here. Just the odd garter snake.

I had the most perfect Diet Coke with ice in a glass at a pub in London in the summer and I’ll forever be chasing that high. I think part of it was it was very hot and I’d been walking all day. Might only be possible to achieve in the summer.
