At some point we’ll be an automated extractive Coruscant and that’ll be the evolutionary stage and it’s fine because everything is ultimately meaningless. But right now we’re still codependent with the land (and water) and being deliberate about that and preserving agrarian sensibilities is good.
Maybe this is generally known but tonight I realized that the last historical chapter of Du Bois’s The Suppression of the African Slave Trade is called “The Final Crisis” which is interesting.
Putin so obviously owns this man. If Iran is really such a point of contention for Putin I almost hope Trump is unable to back down and Putin dumps whatever he has on Trump and it becomes too much for even Congressional Republicans to stomach (both what he would release and that he had leverage).

It’s cliche but I was so angry about the Iraq war and it completely reshaped my politics and this still seems inconceivably 10x more outrageous than that.
