Written English has barely changed in 300 years. If you can read Harry Potter, you can read Robinson Crusoe (1719).

The pause of response mode funding will have a huge impact on ECRs who are not yet fellowship ready. When researchers leave academia they rarely return. Clarity on when RM will reopen is urgently needed & transitions to the new model need to avoid investment gaps that disproportionally affect ECRs

Via @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social, @claudiacooper.bsky.social, Jen Keen & I had the chance to discuss how #dementia care might shift from hospitals to community with the APPG @ukparliament.parliament.uk. We have to use every opportunity we get to increase specialist support for people with dementia.

The CDC changed the universal vaccine schedule & no longer recommends

Rotavirus
Hepatitis A & B
Meningitis
Influenza
RSV

I’ve cared for previously healthy kids who died from RSV, influenza and meningitis.

We all are going to be caring for a lot more now.

In our already overflowing hospitals

‘…not just a dance on an academic pinhead.’ I don’t think #Dementia or #Alzheimer’s are mentioned in this excellent essay by Simon Shorvon in @brain1878.bsky.social but there is plenty of food for thought for those of us who diagnose and treat them, and all other brain syndromes/diseases/disorders…
