I've experienced all of those things on mounjaro. And I have been sicker on it at points than I have ever been in my life. But I'm finally on a dosage that I seem to tolerate fairly well and maintains my weight steadily. And my A1C has been normal. It's a process.

It was hard at first for me to accept my diagnosis as something other than personal failure. Realistically it's genetic for me. The cultural messaging around it...Hard not to internalize it. Plenty of thin people also develop it with no real explanation other than age progression.

I noticed a huge increase in my hypermobility when I lost the weight on the GLP one. Almost like all of that extra cushioning was sort of help hold me together and feel less loosey goosey. It's weird to feel protected by the extra weight but I get it.

I understand. It's scary. Prediabetes is sooooo incredibly common in our age range though. Smart to see your pcp, too.

Metformin might be the only thing you need if there's no big changes on your next labs. But they may suggest glp 1 too. You might have to ask for it if you think you want it. I wanted the weight loss and it made sense to reduce the mass that my kidneys and pancreas had to support. Ymmv 💜

I know that feeling, even though I never experienced weight loss. Don't leave it, bc you risk neuropathy and organ damage. The cause of my ckd is unknown but we can't rule out being prediabetic as part of the puzzle.

Metformin can be hard on the stomach for some. If you get a diagnosis for prediabetes or diabetes, insurance may cover the glp 1. Mine does, bc I have labs that show a pattern of borderline to slightly elevated A1c. And yeah mounjaro kicked my ass at first. Still does occasionally.

Nausea, fatigue and sweating sounds not fun. Hope you get some relief quickly. 💜

Without medication my admittedly minor symptoms were most noticeable in the morning, probably because of the Dawn effect. No issues with sweating/nausea but brain fog and irritability were big.
