9.5 hours. I’m still trying to tweak the blue until I like it. But I’m thinking I should finish the rest and just go back to it at near the end.

Layering white in the yellow highlight area is helping quite a bit. The petals have a lot of wrinkly details add so they still need a lot of work, but I’m happy with the vibrancy so far.

I’m glad you appreciate it! ☺️✨I was a little embarrassed to add it because I didn’t feel like it looked like 3 hours of work. But mixing colors and adding layer takes time. I’ve only recently began logging my hours but it’s been so helpful for planning and setting realistic expectations.

The finished painting

As I continued, the pixels were born and I found so much joy painting these little squares. This piece will always be super special to me. I fell back in love with painting and found a way to express the complexity of grief tugging at me.

The title “Conservation” came from 1) it’s an image of

Once upon a time, I wanted to paint a tiny landscape. I really liked it in image 2, it was so colorful and lively. But it felt like I was trying to copy everyone else. My voice was missing… so I ruined it in an attempt to experiment. I wanted it to mean more than “it’s pretty”

I don’t normally put too much thought into personality tests and such… but it’s been my interest of research over the past week.
Do people see personalities of the artists through their work?
Do you think those tests are reliable or helpful in any way?

Took the 16 personalities test thing again recently for my new employer (teaching art summer classes for kiddos)
I’m an INFJ… I took one as a teen and had the same result. So idk maybe it’s a little accurate.
I’m curious if you know your type, if you make art, and what kind of art you make

But I’m obsessed with the reference photo I took at a sunflower festival last year.

Will start new painting(s) tonight. I’ve taken a 2 week break for a number of interviews, meetings, my exhibition reception, and updating my website. …and a few days of rest.
I’m ready to get back to my paints. ✨🎨

A family member shared an A/I generated song that they claimed to have made.
The painfully ironic part was that they sent it thinking it would cheer up my family from being unemployed/ financially unstable.
I absolutely ripped into them about them about it.
How incredibly tone deaf and insulting 🙄

Feeling very depressed. But I know a bunch of people are feeling the same way. I’m not trying to compete.
My brain keeps spinning abut how to get out of it. I want to stop sinking. I want to be helpful somehow…

The snow we had in December was really pretty. The snow that turned into ice and lasted for weeks was miserable. I am not excited to see the snow icon back on the weekly forecast… I just want the sun back.

I really like the design! I have bad luck with my craft bags falling over and spilling everywhere, so the tie at the top looks so helpful.
