It looks as if some combination of the markets, MAGA and munitions shortages in the Gulf will bring Trump to declare victory in the coming days. There will be no regime change or unconditional surrender. It will leave a deeply damaged but not a different Iran. An Iran who will want revenge one day.
The net result of this US/Israeli adventure - and of the Gaza atrocity - will be the radicalisation of another generation of young Arabs and Iranians who will have every reason to hate Israel and the West, and who will doubtless make their feelings known by violent means for decades to come.

Please help Confused of Cornwall. I was sure that some years ago the West (with the participation of the US) negotiated a nuclear agreement with Iran, which all agreed was reasonable and sufficiently reassuring.
