Research Saves Lives

At Hopkins, we just went live with an expansive website showing the extraordinary value of research, the impact of cuts to research, what's at stake, resources for our research community, etc.

There’s been some β€œadvice” coming from some quarters for scientists not to focus on DEI-related funding cuts.

I wholly reject this concept.

Cutting programs designed to reduce science and healthcare disparities is as detrimental to science as anything else, both morally and functionally.

This is how much $$ each state will lose if the #NIH indirect (overhead) rate cuts are allowed to go through (from bit.ly/4b4sD8n). The devastating effects will be felt by universities, researchers, and patients across the country.
