My story "Distant But Unmistakable" is in this wonderful antho!
every day the technology i use for work breaks more and more, and i am supposed to sit calmly in my office chair instead of screaming and running on all fours into the woods
we encounter the canon first as parody; it instills in us a reverence for a story we were born midway through
This observation has always stuck with me...
"House, Body, Bird turns up the creepy dollhouse dial to 11, and then goes to some unexpected places. I read it during a house repair and I havenβt quite recovered yet. Truly a fabulous debut title! Thoughtful, engaging, both cheerfully gory and cheerfully queerβthis novella gives us a glimpse into the future of horror, and Iβm here for it." -Bogi TakΓ‘cs, Hugo and Lambda award winning author, editor, and critic
"cheerfully gory and cheerfully queer" is one of my favorite comments that i've received on this book--thanks @bogiperson.bsky.social !

Feel like we should be telling people we appreciate them more these days as a matter of mutual care.

Thereβs another horrific video circulating on the timeline and this is my regular gentle and loving reminder to *turn off autoplay* on your videos so you can give consent to see these things.

FoF has worked miracles within the confines of WebEx. Imagine what they can do with a platform that works for them, not against them!
FoF is a cornerstone of the SFFH community, run by amazing people, and they will be good stewards of their resources.

seeing Associated Press people say that when it comes to genai, "resistance is futile"
but that line has a very particular source (Star Trek), and the point is that resistance very much is *not* futile. the Federation successfully resisted! the Borg have been destroyed!
i was watching a Horizons episode from PBS where a couple panelists had a similar perspective, and i felt so confused--like, when did we decide to give up? why? π
A stylized illustration of a fantastical moon with the shape of a cat made out of its topographical textures. The cat is sleeping against a starry night sky with a light blue corona of light framing the moon. The tops of trees frame the bottom of the artwork, a shooting star is seen streaming across the sky. βInheritance is never clean. We gather too much over the course of a life, too many objects imbued with too many memories, to ever pass on an uncomplicated story to our descendants.β
Yβall, I love this novel so much. Have been thinking about it ever since I finished reading it.
I'm delighted that this story is apparently working for friends who didn't get all the references, but also I wasn't trying to keep secrets, so I'll tell you: this is the Camilla that my Camilla named herself after.
The "this is fine" dog meme comic, but he's saying "so I have a book coming out".
*sigh*
Persepolis is an all time favorite of mine. I was lucky that my public library had a huge collection of graphic novels, it was how I read Maus too.
thank you!! i just read your synopsis for Palmetto Boy and it sounds so deliciously creepy!
The House allowed Birdie to escape once.
It refuses to let her shame the family again.
