The moms risking arrest to protect gender-affirming care for trans youth
The government wants to ban the care nationwide. Hospitals are shutting down treatment. Parents just want it all to stop.
Larissa, a therapist from D.C., recently spent 12 hours in a jail cell with five other people. There was no running water, since the sink wasn’t working. They were all fed once: a baloney sandwich per person.
She was there for her trans patients. They're being hurt by this administration, she said.

SB 244 was put into effect virtually overnight, causing chaos, panic and fear in the trans community.
New — I spoke to eight trans people in Kansas about the new state law that invalidated their driver’s licenses overnight, what’s it’s like to live there right now, plus details of two DMV emails exclusively obtained by The Handbasket that shed light on the law’s chaotic and cruel rollout:

How Brothel Workers in Nevada Just Made Labor History
The courtesans at Sheri’s Ranch were staring down a horrifying new contract. So they did what workers everywhere do: They got organized.
When faced with a shockingly exploitative new employment contract that would’ve forced them to sign away their IP, their likeness rights, and their power of attorney, Jupiter Jetson and her coworkers at Sheri’s fought back—fast.
They organized a union in SIX DAYS. www.thenation.com/article/econ...

This Tennessee Prison Is Leaving LGBTQ People Unhoused Behind Bars
The South Central Correctional Center leaves LGBTQ people defenseless, so they’re organizing to fight for their safety.
In this country, even being in prison doesn't guarantee someone a bed to sleep in or a meal.
In gang-controlled areas of this prison in TN, it’s common practice to demand “rent” from any unaffiliated people. This violence is encouraged by guards.
