As a title, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book doesn't work nearly as well as Yoshi and the Book of Mystery would have. Linguistically, the name they went with abruptly ends on a dull, anticlimactic word, but also, a mysterious book could just mean the cover's missing. A book of mystery? That's exciting.
