Here she is, the veil wasnt listening to me so I just left it for another day till I discover what the problem is. Either way, I like how she turned out, it was fun to do and sculpt

SHAW!
Till now thats all, ill send the finished product when its done, till now thats all. Thanks for reading
Now I tried to use UDIMs thinking "if I can give some stuf their own tyle more resolution right?" It felt no diferent from normal, I still did it but nothing noteworthy. xgen is being finicky with me. So ima just use the og hair obj.
So i started uv making, and ofcourse it can be tricky, but not imposible if you find workarounds, it gave me a lot of problems like taking poligons from other cuts, but nothing a planar and precut couldnt help! It took a bit but I managed to do it
Now before cuting the uvs I was trying out the xgen for hair cus I dont want to retopo the hair, and it seems straight foward, but I later decided id be better off uv and texturizing, then do the hair, but may just slap a colored lambert on and call it a day.
Then started my favorite part, retopology, its like a puzzle and its really relaxing. (Fun fact. I felt dumb for not finishing the A pose retopology and just posing the retopo, but I was already to far in the new pose so I kept going) I like to make my own, but I also automated the simple shapes.
Then after a bunch of tesimatings to get the lowest amount of active points, I moved it to maya. Man I had to move it obj by obj due to how heavy it was. I desided to scratch the high poly and low poly pipeline and just made a low poly. Its gonna be rendered in Maya anyway
I was gonna do it in a pose, but then I realized "im not rigging this" so i had to pose it. And thats what I did. I WAS gonna make a new pose, but decided that making the pose from the first illustration was easier.
OKAY SO HI HELLO! man its been a bit, a lot has been happening and I forgot to post anything here. So lemme tell you guys what ive been doing.
Remember to drink water, sleep well, and stay positive. TILL NEXT TIME!!
I DID start sketching the turnaround of the second model. But I wanted to finish luna before starting the other model. So all I have as of now is a minor front facing sketch
As of now, this is all, I wanna do more for next time, am also thinking on going back to my hair cards plan. Wish me luck!
So im gonna have to pose it. But on the bright side, since it won't be rigged, I can use UDIMs to texture it. Just gotta see what pose to give it. I was also told I should color the model to organize the parts, and elongate the hands because they look small. Gotta see how to make the veil shear.
Hello! Its been so long! I haven't been working much on my luna model. But I know what I need to change
First off ive been making it as if it will get rigged, meaning I left it in a pose the whole time and even started retopologizing. But I wont be able to rig it-

Also, fun fact, she has a veil, I just didnt add it to the turnaround refs because it would be hard to see the face, but heres the cloth sim I made, and a blooper that I got from playing with the sliders
And now heres the turnaround, this was so much fun to do. Hopefully you guys enjoyed hearing me talk about the process. Either way remember to drink water and sleep well. Goodnight!

I also went and remade the tail, I curve snap is a miracle, made my life easier. I also tried to sculpt the seam at the side of the dress. Thought it would add a Lil bit more.
Also the places where the ropes combined, I did all 3 of them! Stitched for the back, tied for the colar, and I left the charm on the front, just because I liked it, it just looks like the moon charm is removable with a clip. I just liked it.
I also polished the face a bit, heck, I started doing the lashes! I also did the finger nails, I wanted to get more details but if I subdivided the skin one more time my computer would cry. I also had thought of texturing the skin here, but I felt it would be better in substance painter.
Good evening, i hope you guys are doing well! I just wanted to show yall the cleanup I made! I esentially remade the dress and hair. I WAS gonna use hair cards for the hair, but I was worried they could become heavy on my computer do I just tried to make it look as good as I can with my curent skill
Now this is just something im proud about, the lips. I dont know man, im just proud I managed to make them look good, just gotta put more details in and it will look good.
That's all for this one
I was having trouble with the curve tool because it would snap onto other near surfaces, so I had to split parts to merge back later, but I hade to dynamesh it back together so it would reconnect again, making me loose a lot of details, but I just resculpt.
Or the 3rd option, I would add something like the end of the first picture to the ends for the charms (I already did) and at the top a clasp thing like the ones on necklaces, and add loops to the dress. The problem is it would be a NIGHTMARE to retopologize. This was another reason I didnt use chain
I've been having trouble with the hem cord part of her clothes where they connect, Idk how to make the connection flattering and I had 3 options.
1. Hide the connection with a charm, but I think it's kinda lazy.
2. Make them sewn together, it's eh and idk cus at first I wanted it to be removable.
So im just gonna go for it, and whatever happens ill worry for when it happens, I try to keep profecional but this is the first time I am. So please be nice. So lets start with some stuff I already had in mind.

I know it's been just 2-3 days since I last posted, and I KNOW it's not bad, but sometimes I think I should also tell you guys my process as I'm doing the model, I want to get feedback and maybe tips and tricks but my brain tells me its either unnecessary or will backfire, just worst case scenarios.
