Tucson has the highest bus ridership per capita of any major city in the US without light rail or a metro system.

They don't even need a new tube for that
Why when we already have a metro standard that has a fleet of 1000 vehicles and can be fully automated with platform edge doors or vehicle intrusion devices?
They would've almost certainly reused the 980 corridor and gone south to serve Alameda. Likely 3 new stations in the east bay, but they could easily fit a 4th in the 980 corridor
Link21 as it's currently being planned is never getting built. No one will approve a 50 billion dollar budget.
This is exactly why Link21 should've been BART. They didn't even consider Geary in that study and still found that ridership would be nearly 50% higher than regional rail. We're talking about a doubling or more of pre-pandemic bart ridership and instead we want to further fragment our metro system
Even if this were true (the only way BART gets chosen is if it's tied to Link21, which it should be) How many trains per hour does Geary actually need?
The ballot measure will prevent the station closures though
SFCTA released some slides for the Geary-19th subway study and among it the ridership projections for this thing with through running to the east bay are pretty insane.
It's very...very clear to me that Link21 should've selected BART

Use the ROW for BART pretty plz?
π»πItβs time for the Big Game!!! πποΈ
Do your part, #CALGORITHM take BART to Millbrae and declare @caltrain.com and the whole Bay Area BEAR TERRITORY!
BART - Caltrain transfer schedules below β¬οΈ
Never heard of inferred exits based on trip history...that's honestly a really cool feature if true. Not sure how it will be implemented.
That's what makes it extra infuriating
You're just unlucky. That and the wings are more rigid
EWR-TLV also going to 18* weekly
4β is absolutely not enough for a big rig. Itβs not even enough for a car
Brother I have a 0 car train to sell you
That was put to a referendum tho, that's just Californians.
So this thing is never getting built, got it.
Why? Why needlessly complicate their system making it bespoke and harder to regulate for absolutely no cost savings?
This is not how FRA and FTA governance work. Do you want BART to end up like PATH?
They did so before the Schengen area was enacted, but these days it doesn't make any sense to not have an open border policy, but again, the trade off is that you need to have your ID with you and have to report your stays
Which effectively means you have to carry it.
That's still the thing about living in the Schengen Area, they're allowed to do this at will at any of the border crossings. I've been checked basically every single time I've taken the SnΓ€lltΓ₯get and on multiple occasions on regional trains between Germany and Austria.
You are required to have ID (whether that's your passport or national ID card) on you at all times in Germany.
It's 10 minutes everywhere or better during the day except between Pittsburg-Antioch, Bay Fair-Dublin, and SFO-Millbrae
Operations budgets have nothing to do with capital budgets
This was bart from the get go though
Trains don't exist duh
