Finally finished this up! It's done in watercolor, gouache, and color pencils. I know I should try to render it in more detail but I'm not sure I want to. I like the texture being able to be textures. Maybe that will change in the future. For now, though, I like it 😅

Feel like i’m more self conscious when i’m interacting online than I am in person. Social anxiety amplified online apparently, these days.

Never knew how to take it on the end, but it was a piece of interesting “history” as times change. Honestly my afab game major friends felt sexism and racism seriously needs to be addressed in that field. Transportation design too. Very male heavy departments. Some of them got bullied out. a shame.

Citing that they were being pushed out by women, and male spaces are becoming less frequent. My prof honestly welcomed the change, but he was honest about how some of the men in the industry felt about the shift. Not to mention how the queer space has grown in the arts as well.

When I was in school, one of my profs talked about how when he was in school (he’s in his late 60’s, mind you.) all students were men. But gradually he’s seen the art world shift, to more women majoring and pursuing the art field. Some of his colleagues found it to be a “shame”…

Honestly, very good point! I think it’s important to ask ourselves “why” something is rather than accept it as normal. Like, if “you/i” are passionate about this subject/type of work, others are too, regardless of background.

Stopping and questioning why, gives us the power to address it earnestly.
