Today on Covid #DayofReflection we remember those who lost their lives during the pandemic, and who still continue to suffer the consequences.
These are not just numbers, they are our friends, our families, our neighbours and our colleagues. (1/3)

Strongly agree. I was lucky my folks kept some on video tape for me to experience at the right time (Breakfast Club was one!), some I experienced at the right time by chance (e.g. Mean Girls, in adulthood the Wayfarers series). I hate FBDO.

βForcing hospitals to collect and publish data on corridor care is welcome... [But] ending corridor care, as the Health Secretary has pledged to do, will require much bolder actions.β
Corridor care is the reality faced every single day by doctors and patients in hospitals across the country.
We've responded to a new letter from NHS England setting out changes to how corridor care is defined and measured.

Vote now to have your say on the 2026/27 GP contract which is being imposed on GP practices in England. GPs are being asked to do more and more, list sizes and GP-to-patient ratios are expanding while continuity of care is shrinking.

Dysgu/Learn
This St Davidβs day, Dr Deiniol Jones, reflects on the importance of the Welsh language in delivering care and connection in Wales and what the BMA is doing to include the language in its work.
"Drwy ddysgu a defnyddioβr Gymraeg yn y byd meddygol, mae meddygon yn cyfrannu at y gwaith o ddiogelu ac adfywio'r iaith.
"Nid yn unig bod hyn o fudd iβr cleifion felly, ond maeβn cefnogiβr nod ehangach o gynnal y Gymraeg."

Me holding forth while standing behind a table laid with a BMA cloth, gesturing at the audience while making a point. Alan Stout, Chair of NI Council, is sitting watching from his place as convenor of the meeting. There were loads of people there but theyβre all just out of frame, collectivising too
Me and Alan Stout, Chair of NI Council, in front of an old staircase at Riddel Hall in Belfast where the meeting was (but not in the meeting room itself as that was just a standard seminar room and not very interesting as a background for a photo)
Great pleasure to address an all-member open meeting in Belfast tonight. We talked about the shocking health disparity between NI and the rest of the UK, the lack of training posts, the pull of SlΓ‘intecare, and how the BMAβs new, strong collective voice can start to address them together β
