One more pat of the cat (or dog or both, I’m not bigoted). Or to look after the fish. Or even the plants you lovingly tended!

We had a trial back in the day and it was fucking great. But no…. apparently it fades the curtains

(Actually not that great for the folks up north; we need two summer time zones in our state seriously)

Come to Western Australia, where we don’t have daylight savings

As a result of which, sunrise is at 5-fucking-AM in the morning in mid summer. It’s fucking amazing. i mean, we could have an extra hour in the evening to go to the beach after work, but apparently that would be bad.

My first test match was the WACA test where he took 7-25, that innings.

I would not under any circumstances want to annoy him if I was a batsman playing against him in his prime.

Policymakers need to become *very* familiar with concepts like these and spinning up plans to implement ASAP. The only way out of our looming energy crisis is a crash transition to renewables with an eye towards greatest, most immediate impact.

Humanity heating planet faster than ever before, study finds Researchers identify sharp rise to about 0.35C every decade, after excluding natural fluctuations such as El NiΓ±o

A potential point of discussion for political/media/industry/diplomatic/kitchen table/whatever debate here. Likely to be relevant to most things. Evidence is pretty compelling. But who’s to say really. Carry on.

I would like to congratulate Yanks on their extreme bravery on sinking a vessel which had no ammunition on board and was transiting back from an exercise they’d been part of. Onya fellas, that must’ve been at least as difficult as bombing a girl’s school, or an undefended block of flats.

I propose a new law:

Anyone who expresses support for an offensive war shall immediately be drafted to fight in it. No exceptions and no exemptions for any reason, including disability or service as a government official in any office. Presidents and congressmen shall fight in any war they start.

Reminds me of the RAAF’s Jindivik target drone… the manned prototype, with an itsy bitsy cockpit, for testing aerodynamics and such, can be found in the RAAF museum. An odd looking aircraft (difficult to fit a pilot in when the basic design has a whacking big air intake where a cockpit would be)

Back before the internet was used by governments, I was able to renew my (West Australian) licence by sending in a form with a signature on it and they posted me a new one… interstate, with no photo, no questions asked. Why was it easier then?
