I reflexively flinched at this title but glad I clicked and read it - there are a whole bunch of good criticisms in here and I have probably been complicit in at least a few of these problems in my time

The US is traumatizing thousands of kids in detention camps. But we are also traumatizing *millions* of kids who are in hiding or fear their parents being snatched.
Like how we have tens of thousands of kids who have survived school shootings, and a whole generation shaped by active shooter drills.

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.
When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.
