My god, this is a nightmare. Who is your MP? I’m sure you’ve been in touch. Tag them on social media as much as you can if not.
Delighted to see Macron telling the truth about the lie of Brexit.
“No one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away.” -Terry Pratchett. Remembering Matt Love.
If the fascist worst can run again, so can Obama. Assuming they plan on having elections again. At this rate I’m not even sure the midterms will happen.
Rachel Ball and I are excited to share that our new book “The Scaffolding Effect”, part of the InnerDrive CPD series is now available to preorder on Amazon!

Allyson Felix is an astonishing human being.
Pelicot is seen smiling as she walks past women who are applauding her. They look emotional and one holds a sign up saying Merci Gisele
Photo of the Day, if not the Year.
Solidarity and admiration.
📸This brilliant photo of Gisele Pelicot, leaving court for the final time yesterday, was taken by Arnold Jerocki for Getty Images.
Watching colleagues who go above and beyond in their roles, commuting 4+ hours per day, getting upbraided for being 2-3 minutes late. Threatened with disciplinary. Awful.
Part of me misses the Irish curriculum. Government set one curriculum but it covered 10,000 years. Literally Palaeolithic to 1960’s (more recent I assume now). Irish and world history. Thin on depth but glorious in breadth. Studied by all.
Certainly KS3. More limited at KS4 and KS5 is just odd. Millions of combinations per exam board but mainly dull and pedestrian topics.
Particularly given the tiny number of votes required compared to fptp. Landslides are virtually impossible.

This is what the russian offensive of 2024 looks like. The price of this offensive is hundreds of thousands of dead russian soldiers who have been deceived by russian war criminal President putin, the russian government and russian propagandists. You will not read about this in the russian media. 👇
For my Masters I researched the 1991 Gulf War. It remains in my view, one of the most significant and impactful conflicts of the 2nd half of the 20th century. From media to “smart” bombs and the future shape of the Middle East.

Too much possibly for students. But well worth a read for Politics teachers.
@kerrylouisehistory.bsky.social The Simpsons puritan gif on X was glorious!
Good morning!
Very useful Irish History starter pack here by @petergray47.bsky.social go.bsky.app/TQ96Hoe
Teaching A-level History has seen me trying to shoehorn amazing practice I see in KS3&4 into KS5. We have good EQs, lots of historians, knowledge, narrative and reading opportunities etc. But I’ve never had an enthusiastic colleague in these endeavours. Not in 24yrs of teaching. Teamwork is vital.
Very kind to include me, Hugh.
Ofsted should be replaced by the Irish Dept of Education. Grading exists but are: 1) Sure that’s grand. 2) Well, you know yourself. 3) I won’t keep you. 4) Jaysus lads
Planning is always hard. But after being told I wouldn’t have 2 Yr12 groups under any circumstances & now recruiting enough for 3. I have a new timetable and multiple extra groups. The joys of FE.
It’s glorious. Great job. We have wanted bookshelves like this for ages.
That’s stunning. Local person do it or a company?
History teachers. How do you do initial assessment for Yr12s? We have an extract from a historian and ask questions of the students.
It’s a little like seeing on tv or cinema a book that means the world to you. I remember seeing counting crows in Dublin for first time. Cried my eyes out as it was a dream to see them. I felt confused when everyone else was having a wild old time.
