Living in the SF cloud and engineering in the data cloud. Also: plants, coffee, cooking, a chemeng microbio phd, she/her, via Portland and Boulder. Are these views even mine? We just don’t know. Same handle most other spots.

I'm aware there are various recommendation features out there but while they're great for my non-fiction tastes they've struggled with my taste in fiction
I'm looking for fiction recommendations - on one hand I'd say I'm looking for distraction but the last fiction I loved was 'On The Beach' so if vaguely comforting depictions of the banalities of the apocalypse are your jam too let me know what else you've liked
Eeeeexxxactly!
'Unpronounceable' is not a characteristic of ingredients but rather an insufficiency of your education
Buying toothpaste in SF is cheaper than an escape room and pretty much the same experience
Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
Stacks of la croix boxes in grocery, there is lime and lemon but also 'pure' and 'sunshine'
La Croix is progressing on the abstraction scale
Screenshot of Google Maps overview of a highway labeled 101 with beach tot he left and mountains to the right. There's a grocery cart icon labeled 'safeway' with the description: 'shrimp with Guinness flavor'
I have questions I am not sure I want the answers to
A small metal container with a plastic basket in it, filled with water and a few soap bubbles floating above two pairs of acetate framed glasses: one clear champagne colored and one black
I cannot recommend highly enough the low stakes drama and catharsis of watching your glasses in an ultrasonic cleaner
If the San Francisco bush man has a good IP lawyer he could make lots of money off the halftime show

Cymbidium orchards with two flower stalks each: one a faded maroon and one a yellow with red speckles. They're on a parquet floor in a tote bag in the sun
The orchids
A sidewalk with the shadows of two people: the taller has spikey branches in shadow and the shorter is totally surrounded by the gently curved leaves of cymbidium orchids and some of their bulbous flower stalks
Bouquet Sunday today is branches for inside and orchids for the garden
One of my boyfriends in college always had an emergency cliff bar for if I got disastrously hangry and it was a benevolent gesture but certainly an incentive to not quite get to needing one
got the succession theme in stuck in my head for some reason
A cyanobacteria as Sue Sylvester from the musical television show Glee saying: "I'm going to create an environment that is so toxic"
Cyanobacteria during the Great Oxygenation Event about 2.4 billion years ago, which resulted in the mass extinction of many anaerobic organisms 🧪

It really is printers that inspire this reaction - they're so confounding and make all these harsh little sudden noises 🫣

I just had some leftover from a Halloween project and put them in little packs on a whim!
A greeting card envelope with some size googly eyes at the seal
A tin of fish where the fish on the label has a googly eye applied
I highly recommending giving small bags of googly eyes to each family member in their Christmas stockings as the shenanigans last well into January
I know the car pilled haters won't stop trying but this a welcome reprieve
All seasons are now intern season
It's my birthday on Tuesday and you know this is my wish!!
So I started using fondue pots to keep gravy warm at thanksgiving and I think gravy fondue is the next logical step

So much this! Like it's fine to acknowledge someone else is super cool in a way that does not decrease your own different flavor of coolness. In fact doing your own thing will probably make you more cool
All positive in my experience because the Waymo's faults are things humans do more egregiously and there's a path forward for increasing safety of AVs over time
The tech isn't perfect, to me being around and in them the bar is about being any amount better, or even just more consistent, than the rather terrifying and deadly drivers here in SF
