DMV FGC cornerstone and friend of mine Ludovic Mbock has unfortunately been detained by ICE. Folks are trying to raise money for his legal fees, please donate if you can.

You can just play Unreal Tournament and now Unreal Tournament 2004 for free now. You can play them on the internet against people. You could play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, which is also free. This is also on the world wide web. They weren't tied to dedicated publisher-owned servers.
That'd be wonderful. I certainly would appriciate being able to look at a round up of cool writing and videos about arcade genres every week.
If any of you are visiting Tokyo, this game is (probably still?) available to play on the top floor of the Gigo #3 in Akihabara (the one right next door to the Taito Hey) in their retro area and you should absolutely give it a spin. It is both good and Good and well worth playing on a proper cab. 😌
Lmao got me there. All I'm going to say is that air-unblockables are awesome and heaven sounds like 2000's doujin fighter sound effects on hit.
Bet you don't have anything bad to say about big bang beat revolve.
5 days ago was the 58th Anniversary of the launch of the Memphis Sanitation Workers strike, which was why MLK Jr was in Memphis when he was assassinated. 8 years ago Rev Jesse Jackson spoke on the 50th anniversary of that strike and I was fortunate enough to have heard him speak. Rest in Peace
You won't even use %40 by the time you're done with the game. It's about as much a concern as starving to death in pikmin 3.
Saw nobody mention the prinny games, they're super underrated action platformers if you like games like castlevania with fixed jump arcs.
beach gen is back on a regular release schedule! we've got the most thorough podcast you'll find discussing COSMIC SMASH, its routing, and its score play. and we discuss the recent sequel a bit as well! enjoy here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJXz...

“Fighting games need to be saved” content is a grift
I know it's meant in good faith but "if we just made smaller scope games and charged 20-40 dollars for them it would fix the industry" is very funny to me. indies release like 20 of those a week on steam. are you buying them? is the industry fixed? no? hm. sounds like you need a different solution
ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
Fondly remembering Landstalker's platforming
genuinely legendary resume. rest in peace o7
i always get a little dazed when i see that argument crop up in the wild because we're living in like, a time where multiplayer only games operate on a 1-2 year lifespan until end of service unless they break out big time.
This is a little late after the release of DQ7R last week, but if you're curious about the claim that Dragon Quest games can only be released on weekends in Japan, here's some research I did on that subject:
Making thumbnails really makes you FEEL that period in the 2000s when amazing hand drawn game promo art was replaced with ugly, awful 3D renders. Not only do they look crap but its' extremely rare to find hd versions of them unlike hd scans of hand drawn stuff
Something I've been thinking about more is that, yes old games were pumped out because of insane labor crimes *but the art still exists* Unlike today where we are still putting humans in a meat grinder to make something, but that something is valueless ephemera from gamefied gambling houses or multiplayer games that live for less than a year and then die with no way to ever access them again I don't justify Chrono Trigger putting people in the hospital because I can still play it, but I can at least still fucking play it
Been thinking about Highguard and the impermanence of games these days (which is to say, moreso that usual)
Neo Turf Masters with the Persona 5 combat menu options.
BORN TO GOLF WIND IS A FUCK CHIP EM ALL 1996 I am fernando almeida 410,757,864,530 MISSED PUTTS
I found these two Neo Turf Masters memes in my memories.
Oh neat Dino Crisis 1-2 are out on steam. Def give them a try if you haven't, they're very flawed but both have a lot of really unique & interesting ideas. Dino Crisis 2 in particular is like an arcadey run n gun built from the skeleton of Resident Evil, proto RE4 in a lot of ways
Til that AM2 did more than just the virtua fighter characters in Doa5.
Imo it's one that lets you know the nuances about a game that you wouldn't get just by watching and how they all contribute to the game. I'm thinking about how TEU's last vid explains the sauce of how the items and enemies are laid out in Night Striker Gear. It really gave me a new perspective.
"the ps3 can finally die" i didnt hear no ridge racer 7 port
Like don't get me wrong I think singleplayer content helps but I think what fighting games have to tackle is more that this shit is beginning to sound like "How do we make vertical shmups mainstream in 2026??"
lol you don't??? Maybe they just maxed out???
