Is the vehicle using the rolling-ball trick? :)

It's the film trilogy split into 40 mins to 1 hour chunks!

Although if this was GOT or a normal series, a character being introduced in Episode 1 then killed in Episode 3 to come back in Episode 5 would be seen as lazy writing...

My wife complained that LOTR is too long so now she is watching it (for the first time) as a 12 part TV series.

We finished Episode 5 last night where the cliffhanger was the reveal of Gandalf The White; such a big mid-season twist! 🫨

Really curious how you implemented the match-scan detection!

What do you mean by this in relation to the phrase? πŸ˜„

Open #gamedev Q:
How do YOU interpret the phrase "Move Fast, Break Things"?

Ridiculous statement. Of course large companies do training and also hire students, interns, juniors, etc.

In the coat queue after a gig and an old drunk guy pushes to the front.

I called him out and he got super aggro in Danish. Had an argument with him, then when I left he yelled "fuck you" to which I responded "have a nice day".

Maybe the most British thing I've done in 8 years living in Denmark.

This raises questions:
- If both assume AI is part of their exchange, why not just send the bullet points?
- How much info drift is there between the first and second sets of bullet points?
- How much energy, time and money is wasted in just one info conversion loop?

New term: 'LLMiddleman'

- Person A wants to write a message to Person B.
- They write up bullet points and ask AI to turn that into the full message. They send whatever was written.
- Person B opens the message. They can't be bothered to read it all so feed it into AI to condense to bullet points.

Ah yes, if there is one thing companies and developers are wanting it's for an even greater quantity of released games on the stores... /s

Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Star Trek: TNG, Succession, Blackadder Goes Forth

As a Discord Hater, I welcome it's demise.

Companies shifting user engagement from good ol' forums to 'realtime' chat-rooms has ruined SEO of useful recorded public information. I went to a game dev event the other week, and all the admin info was a pinned post on a Discord channel! 😑

IIRC, it's because 3D UI pointer queries are done through physics raycasting...

UE5 is probably the best starting point for '4 players doing shenanigans' formula? I don't want to use Unity and haven't seen much 'friendslop' with Godot (yet!).

I want to make a 'friendslop' game.

TL;DR Unity -> Godot transition: after 13 years in unity, it took me 4-6 weeks of getting adjusted, and now i’ll never go back. it has quirks, like other engines. there’s bugs. but it’s free, basically equally capable, and well reported issues get fixed quicker than in unity (sometimes within hours)

My main issue with SgΓ il is the security outfit hierarchy is not that clear for sections. Atleast on other maps the tier-ing is much more visually obvious.

Still love the vibe of the map!

Graph showing the relative share of game engines used in Global Game Jam from 2018 to 2026.

It mainly shows a relative decrease of the Unity share from nearly 80% to 57%, while Godot grew from 1.4% to over 25%. There's a notable inflexion point in the year-on-year growth from Godot in 2024.

The 2026 Global Game Jam #GGJ26 was last weekend, so let's take a look at their historical data for engine usage.

πŸ“ˆ @godotengine.org is having a good run!

#Godot is now firmly established as the #2 engine in game jams (correlated by #GMTKJam data), rapidly closing the gap with #Unity.
