Standing for truth will bring resistance, so faithful must remain firm and not become arrogant.
Hardship and ease are both tests. Hardship calls for patience, ease calls for gratitude and humility.
No sincere effort is ever wasted with Allah.
My Ramadan takeaway for Juz 18:
Inner humility leads to success and the Qur’an offers nourishment and guidance.
Life is brief, our opportunities to change are not endless.
We will be judged on efforts we make.
Be patient. Try. Every effort matters.
Create the record you want to stand upon.

My Juz 17 takeaway
We're placed here with purpose. Oppression tests the oppressed, oppressor, AND those watching. Our response matters. We were meant to act justly, not wait.
Resistance takes many forms: stand firm, migrate, speak out, defend others. Justice may come later, but the test is now.
Juz 16 highlights lived experiences of faith. Musa, Maryam, Zakariya, Ibrahim all faced moments of uncertainty. Yet Allah guided them step by step. These examples serve as guides for us.
He is Al-Malik, the One in control.
Be patient with the unfolding and ask: My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
The bombs they're using on the million+ individuals that are in the area.
I'd like to say it's satire...
Hegseth needs to stand trial after this as a war criminal. Between this attack and the girls' school, there's no ambiguity. He is responsible for mass murder and must be held accountable.

Juz 15 reminds us the struggle between truth and falsehood will continue. Shaytan’s aim is to “bridle” people, by controlling them through fear, desire, and manipulation.
Liberation comes from holding steady and ensuring our choices are steered by what is right.

Juz 14 reflection:
Allah knows the tests we face. For each test, a remedy exists too. We should stay connected, act with mercy, choose justice, strive, and show generosity. Also, avoid wrongdoing, immorality and oppression.
Faith is not only belief, it is how we live and treat each other.
It's really unsafe out there for vulnerable, identifiable communities.
Or like Christchurch...you'd think govt and security'd be around it a bit better...Oh, that's right... They didn't implement the Royal Commission recommendations, did they.

Well it looks like someone may not have planned well enough for situation they are in. *shakes head*

The IDF just ordered the *entirety of south Lebanon* to be forcibly displaced.
They are emptying the land of its population, creating a massive crisis, and will now proceed to further annihilate large parts of Lebanon.
The very nation state of Lebanon is being destroyed.
There have been over 200 complaints from service members alleging that commanders at more than 30 military installations have framed the war with Iran as all part of God's divine plan and that Trump was anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon & mark Christ's return.
The majority of America’s teachers — a whopping 71% — have at least one side job because they’re so underpaid.
Meanwhile, the country is about to be launched into a long, drawn-out war that has already cost an estimated $2 billion.

Earlier this year my high school inducted me into its Hall of Fame.
The plaque arrived this week, reminding me on how many people invested in my education, encouraging free thought. Those foundations still steady me today.
Grateful for the start I had.

Nearing halfway through Ramadan, my Juz 13 reflection:
We're as dependent on God outside the womb as when inside it. Just now we're accountable.
When the story feels unclear, don’t fast-forward to despair.
God knows what we do not. What unfolds does so with a wider purpose than we see.
A question from a talk last night:
“We believe in Allah, but do we believe Allah?”
Juz 12 answers how to :
• Stay firm, even when it's the hardest
• Protection doesn’t always look like ease
• Closeness grows with sincerity
• Silence may be quiet care
• Keep going, trust the outcome long term.

When they simply buy that influence, everyone is silent.

Juz 11 is simple and direct: if you want to return to Allah, the path is open. No games, no pretending. He already knows what’s in our hearts.
When faith feels low, don’t pull away. Stay close to honourable people who help you stay steady.
