I don't think Rise will resonate with everyone, but if you have Netflix, it's worth checking out, imo! I binged the whole series a couple years ago (finishing with an animated movie)!
..and their relationship with each other feel more like brothers :)
The interesting thing for Rise is that Raph is the leader through most of it, being the oldest. Leo and Donnie are both the middle children (sometimes referred to as the chaos twins), and I kinda love that dynamic!
I haven't seen MUCH of the 2003 one, at least after the first year or so, so I may not be the best authority on it. That said, Rise takes things in a more anime-action intense and somewhat comical route. I personally feel there's more definition to each of their personalities in it..
Grew up a Donnie stan, and every since Rise of the TMNT, Leo has become an equal fave for me!
