Feels right for the times🙂

Ordinary fellow from Canada with the odd thought or two. I resist the temptation to be defined as I find it limiting somehow. We’re all made of the same energy, we just use it differently. satoriman.redbubble.com
Thinking about how we choose our path, what we expect it leads to and where we end up.
Beautiful evening, a moment of peace, and I’m wishing you all a brief respite to remember fond dreams. #photography, #calm, #mindful

Evening from the west coast of Vancouver Island. Storms coming, bundle up, wear your galoshes and prepare for bad news on the markets. It will pass as all storms do but it’s going to be a rough one.

There will be Spring again. It’s an endless coil that circles all of creation from the birth of universes to the bits of atoms. An endless dance in time.

I always appreciate advice when sincerely given. I won’t be voting conservative but the country has a decision after soundly rejecting Trudeau. I think we are naturally a centrist country but Conservatives get in when Canadians get pissed off. I don’t believe Carney is that right leaning. We’ll see
Not that complicated? What are you talking about? There have been literally millions of words written on this subject and no one has got it perfectly right yet. As long as we tend to focus on all of our differences we’re not going to. It’s the human race not the human races. We look for division.
So I’m pretty sure that Canadians will vote for whoever they/ we believe can face this peril. For that we need a broad coalition. We can see what’s going in the States, we don’t want that, at least most of us don’t. It’s going to be very interesting.
I’m not stumping for Carney, or really any other candidate. I’m not limiting myself to a definition. Our political system is different not necessarily better but different. Trump and his band of evil gremlins are an existential threat to Canada. It feels real.
Further, the left wing party, NDP, has 7% support so they are not forming a government. Personally, I think we’re headed to a minority government again. Discussing tax policy is a very trick balancing act, particularly because our tax system is ver complicated. Votes are precious
My impression was that Trump continually lied and lied and lied his way to the White House. His promises were fools gold but someone voted for him. The articles attached were well thought out, with offsets and thoughtful commentary. Carney has to win an election first. PP could very well get in.
Furthermore I wouldn’t vote for the orange asshole with a gun to my head. Nor would I vote for any right winger. But I wouldn’t necessarily vote for the left either. Well considered policy that is thoughtfully rolled out with a stated purpose is what gets my vote. Little Johnny and I agree
There we go again with the insults. Look man I’ve had lots of shitty jobs and paid plenty in taxes. I get people are mad because others are rich but it doesn’t change the “system” by being belligerent (calling me a liar). Canada has a productivity problem and we need to stand on our own.
In fact I don’t “well know “ and believe, as a poor kid from Cold Lake, I do know the difference between moderately successful and folks that bitch about things but don’t actually add anything but their bias to the conversation. Talk to an accountant. Do not try to bully me.
Also, obviously you don’t know “little Johnny “ so perhaps you should save these kind of arguments until you talk to someone this actually affects to get some perspective. Your opinion doesn’t end at the tip of your nose.
Despite your mocking tone and righteous indignation, the legislation was rushed. Consider professionals that own CCPC’s. We’re trying to recruit Doctors and other highly skilled pros to this country and that legislation would have been a major roadblock. The policy was flawed.
I’m going to politely differ with you Mr. Cannings. As a financial advisor, after doing the due diligence on my clients portfolios, there would have been a significant impact particularly on estates. If you owned an even moderately successful small corporation this basically eliminated any advantage
We need taxes to support our society and really it’s just so easy to shout axe the tax without offering how that hole in funding can be filled. Maybe instead we should incentivize high value industries like they do in Norway (high taxes there by the way).
It was a poorly thought out tax that not only would have caused the flight of capital but also would have punished cottagers, small estates and people who invested in something other than their principal residence. Tax is a two edged sword and can be used as an incentive or punishment.
Seems to me, I’m no expert, but a war of words typically ends in a tie. You want something to happen you will have to take action. More verbs, less nouns.
Wishing I was back here today. Nothing to do, nowhere to be.

Asking for a friend. If Canada has all this manufacturing infrastructure around autos, why can’t we make our own cars? Maybe buy Rivian and build it out? Thoughts?
Don’t forget to dream a little just to keep the dark at bay.
