I was commissioned by LA Times Image to write a poem about Los Angeles, the fires and our devotion to each other. Grateful to do so. I cannot write our city enough love poems.

grateful for folks who continue adding Corazón, Tesoro & Hermosa to gift lists & book round up’s. it’s been 5 years since I released a book and I hope 2025 changes that. In the meantime, mangos, I’m so grateful for you. siempre. siempre.

Nikki Giovanni’s selected poems was the first poetry book I ever checked out from a library and brought home. The first woman I could look at and say “she made the poems work.”
