Nice to see Raspberry Clearwing after an absence of 5 years, despite having a couple of rows of loganberries.
A few migrants last night, Gem, 2 DSG, 2 noctuella, ferrugalis and 2 DB
A particular Oak at the entrance to Faggs wood carpark, Orlestone has been attracting many Red Admiral and daily Purple Emperor.
We visited in the evening and found both Light and Dark Crimson Underwing. I also saw LCU feeding at 10am.
There are no obvious sap runs but the tree appears under stress
Night of 11/7, 97sp including Bordered Straw, Splendid Brocade and Argolamprotes micella, the later, previously had less than 10 Kent records, in the last 2 weeks, at 4 separate sites in the greater Orlestone area have had it.
