Every August Wilson play I’ve seen has been wonderful. His ear for dialog was absolutely perfect.

(We’re admittedly a bit spoiled in the ‘burgh, being able to see his plays in the backyard of his childhood home.)

This LP is one of my favorites of any artist. The 1990s-era CD reissue contains a glorious 23 minutes of alternate takes of the solo "'Round Midnight" that's permanently etched on my brain. Highly recommended.
