It’s a thick, 2” top that we vigorously undercut to ease the bulkiness while still maintaining the beautiful end grain.

Thank you! Yes to the draw knife for most of it with the addition of some spokeshaving. When we made this we only had a regular bench so we used a vise and hold fasts. We just made a shave horse though, and find that it works very well even for shorter legs!
