After we lost Boris, I wondered if I'd ever feel this way about a Tory leader again. It just goes to show, you should never lose hope.

We have successfully bombed a school, gotten 7 soldiers killed, disrupted the world economy, and replaced an 86 year-old supreme leader with his much younger, more hardline son who is more committed to building nuclear weapons. Operation Middle East Wing is all but complete.

β€˜Hey’ came before β€˜hi,’ and β€˜hi' came before β€˜hello.’

β€˜Hi’ is most likely a variant of β€˜hey.’

β€˜Hello’ is not related to either.

Goodbye.

My father/most of my uncles were farmers - even with mechanisation, it is still pretty hard on the body even if there's no big injury (which often there is)

The problem with taking this position is that hansard exists.

She later clarified on the Today Programme that "stopping the archer" meant: "what we did with the Houthis" - which was RAF jets striking targets in Yemen.

Indeed - it is an easy pub quiz test level.

I think the language requirements, in theory are a fair bit more onerous.

US Energy Secretary Wright just deleted his post announcing this. Thinking he jumped the gun and one could be occurring.

I'm obsessed with finding pics of cabinet members with ill fitting shoes.

3/6-9: 29 approve, 43 disapprove, 28 DK

Kemi's strategy is working. The problem is that it is a strategy which essentially goes 'something will happen to Farage, I guess?' for it to actually pay dividends for the Conservatives.

The government has decided to mostly pretend the Iran price shocks aren't happening, Reform believe in mass deportations and fraudulent elections, the Greens sums don't add up and Kemi Badenoch has announced that she did actually get an A in maths.

I do think it's legitimate to criticise Polanski for failing to be straight with the electorate about the trade offs of policy, however I do think this is the sort of criticism you could extend across more or less every party ATM and part of our challenge is we're just debating levels of unreality.

I don't think the current test fits any sort of reasonable purpose, except as a bit of friction.

I'd prefer it to be abolished or replaced with something a bit more meaningful. By all means keep the 30m test, but perhaps add a requirement to attend a couple of classes at the very least.

I did it in 2012.

I do agree tho. I was able to pass the test pre study, but it was very clear the book was useful to get that 25% you mention

Mamdani Chooses His Words Carefully After Alleged Terror Attack

One day the NYT's editors will read these stories again and be ashamed of themselves. Mamdani called the attack "heinous," "criminal," "reprehensible," "terrorism," and "the antithesis of who we are." The insinuation that he's conflicted about this is disgraceful. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/n...
