It's for a proposed bill that provides better protection for children in foster care (ID, predictably, prioritizes parental rights vs child safety). A friend of mine was involved in writing it and she asked me to read the testimony of a former foster child who couldn't be there.

Yes, exactly!! "The Heart of Christ" by Thomas Goodwin is one of my favorite books. And Leland Ryken has written about how surprisingly ahead of their time they were on things like companionate marriage. But gosh. They could be a lot.
