Micah found a discontinued Lego set I wanted on Facebook marketplace, but it came already assembled and kind of dirty. So he bought it, took it apart and CLEANED all the pieces before giving it to me. It's not even my birthday.
UPDATE: It passed this round, next it goes before the entire house of reps, if it passes there it will go to the state senate. This is a really important bill that will very literally save lives - if you're in ID tell your rep you want them to vote YES on H0724! legislature.idaho.gov/sessioninfo/...
It's for a proposed bill that provides better protection for children in foster care (ID, predictably, prioritizes parental rights vs child safety). A friend of mine was involved in writing it and she asked me to read the testimony of a former foster child who couldn't be there.
No, I meant literacy. It WAS a slippery slope but one worth getting on.
In a strange state of affairs it looks like I will be appearing in front of the Idaho state legislator tomorrow morning.
Ngl, Isaac Newton MOGs every picture I put him in.
Who knew that a 14th-century plague could feel so ... relatable?
Hey do you guys ever try to brush your teeth with contact solution or put toothpaste in your eyes? Ah ha ha me neither, obviously.
All I can say is it was everything I was hoping it would be and more.
It's in this book, which I can't wholeheartedly recommend (it's a little too rah-rah Puritans for my taste), but it's still a good resource. www.amazon.com/Worldly-Sain...
You guys, the vegetable barley soup at Costco is ✨exquisite✨. I add cubed avacado and sour cream and it's like comfort in a bowl.
Definitely true. Puritan, fundamentalist, evangelical ... they're all mostly useless but we're stuck with them anyway.
Woke up feeling pretty OK then I saw people in my newsfeed scolding anyone who criticizes the war in Iran because women are oppressed by the regime there. WE KNOW, we just don't think bombing the country will un-oppress them.
Yes, exactly!! "The Heart of Christ" by Thomas Goodwin is one of my favorite books. And Leland Ryken has written about how surprisingly ahead of their time they were on things like companionate marriage. But gosh. They could be a lot.

You'll never look at the Puritans the same way again.
Thank you, I spent a ridiculous amount of time on that 😅
The Protestant Reformation gave the Bible back to ordinary Christians. Protestant fundamentalists have been mad about the world biblical literacy created ever since.

My 10yo requested a capybara cake this year. You'll just have to trust me that it *tastes* amazing.
My daughter requested a capybara cake for her 10th birthday and boy what a nightmare. 😂 you'll just have to trust that it tastes amazing though.
Weekends are for audiobooks.
Remember when they were telling us that Leftist feminists were closet witches? I miss those days, kind of.
Nice!
The primary source gods smiled at me at the thrift store today.
This would rule out the vast majority of Americans.
Is Massie sitting with the Republicans after all?
Obvs Trump is in a class by himself but I have to say that I've never seen a SOTU that wasn't insufferable to watch.
Trump says the only reason anyone would object to Voter ID is because they "want to cheat."
