I was with a much younger colleague, we were working on a historic theater, and we were taking a stage lift down and, I remembered some old pics I'd seen of the place, and said:

I saw the episode of Rick Steves' travel to Iran, a 2009 one. Definitely makes the point that the Islamic Republic is a tyranny. That Iranians can be thrilled to see and talk with Americans and to tell them that they want to be friends with us and view Americans favorably.

Much to my surprise, my hometown paper does actual reporting. It won a Pulitzer a few years ago and was nominated for another. I don't know who they have running reporters, but...
