Thor’s Helmet (NGC 2359) is an emission nebula in the Canis Major region, visible only for a short period during the winter season. It also remains quite low on the horizon, right in the middle of the light-pollution belt. These are nearly 21 hours of integrated exposure. 🔭

A beautifully kept copy of the 1920-ish Grosset & Dunlap edition of "The Haunted Bookshop" by Christopher Morley. The jacket is freshly covered in a protective sleeve, and the book came professionally wrapped in brown paper and bubble wrap, with a free (and very striking) bookmark. This was a very well packaged book!

I very frustratingly missed the forsters tern in Poole Park this afternoon. Some other birds showed themselves very well. It’s only after looking at the photo that I’ve noticed the merganser appears to have fishing line caught in its bill. #Birds #DorsetBirds #WildlifePhotography #UKWildlife

The animals used as draft animals in my story are the same that we have IRL: horses, oxen, mules, etc. There are animal versions of mages where they can use innate magic, but they are too uncommon and too valuable to be used as work animals
